If you are getting ready to put your home on the market, there are several things that you may want to consider.
If you are currently living in your home one of the first things you may want to consider is to declutter it. Put things away that take up a lot of space and/or aren’t necessary. Ensure your home has curb appeal. Have the lawn taken care of and if possible, plant some colorful hardy plants that need minimal maintenance. In the kitchen have a minimal amount, of things on the cupboards and what you leave out have it well organized and clean. In the living room depersonalize it and any other rooms that you may have family photos out (remove them) and store them. Place air fresheners in key locations that will give your home a good smell. Even spreading some type of carpet freshener when you vacuum will enhance the aroma of your home. Giving it a fresh air smell. In the bathrooms have clean towels hanging and orderly. Put away any personal items you may have in the bath, at least until after the viewing has happened. In your bedrooms or wherever you may have valuables put them away in a secure place or take them with you. In the garage store things neatly on shelves or alongside the walls and sweep the garage floor.
If you home is vacant you can talk with any of our agents and we can stage your home for the sale period with some decorations and/or furniture. We currently offer two types of staging settings. Again, this can be reviewed with your listing agent.
Prior to placing your home for sale our agent will review all of these things with you among others to ensure your home is ready for viewings and will show well.
