Getting your home ready to rent. When you decide to put your home on the market for rent there are several things you may want to do prior to putting it on the market. You would want to make sure it is clean and that the yard has been manicured.
Inside your home you would want to have all floors cleaned and move the stove and refrigerator and mop under them, have all of the bathrooms cleaned. Remove any and all personal things from the home, i.e. from the cupboards in the kitchen and the pantry as well. Remove any items from the garage, if you have a shed remove any items, i.e. old paint cans etc.
A Real Estate Broker can help you in many ways. There are several things a Broker can help you with. They can manage the property for you as your property manager and handle any issues that arise as a result of having a tenant in your home. Your broker can qualify any potential tenants and help you set the amount of rent to be charged along with any security deposits that may be charged to include a possible non-refundable “Pet fee”. Any paperwork/forms that may be required in the rental of your home would be provided by your Property Manager/Real Estate Broker.
In the event your tenant fails to pay rent, or damages your broker could on your behalf have the tenant removed from the property.
